About me

About Me

I'm a research scientist in the field of coastal processes including, hydrodynamics, water quality and sediment transport. I study those aspects by utilising a variety of numerical models with different complexity settings and conducting extensive field surveys. Over the past decade, I've developed and applied different models focused on the Arabian Gulf region particularly Kuwait Bay (Northwest of the Gulf). I'm fascinated by the processes that trigger various hydro environmental issues such as hypoxia, transport and concentration of pollutants-nutrients, and flushing-residence time of water bodies. As a researcher, my duties are focused on formulating proposals for funds and executing research projects. Over the past years, I have completed a number of key research projects that contributed to further understanding of the northwest region of the Gulf (see publications). In addition to research projects, I'm also involved in various consultancy works within the Gulf region which are mainly focused on waterfront developments and associated environmental impact assessments. I support and supervise students on undergraduate and graduate levels. I also carry out a wide range of training programs for different levels. The training programs include numerical modelling, research proposal preparing, project management, research publications preparations, and scientific illustrations. Whenever possible, I'm getting myself involved in a wide range of public engagement activities to increase the environmental awareness.
